HOTSHOT DRIVERS

If windshield time is adventure for you, arriving over your target safely, and right on time is in your DNA, and listening to music, books and podcasts makes you smile. Hotshot driving might just be for you.

Sovryn Logistics is a licensed Operating Authority with the FMSCA (MC 164339) and Department of Transportation (DOT 4242995). Our team of independent drivers operate under our Authority but answer to themselves. We handle all the compliance paperwork and load logistics allowing you to focus on the road. We provide you a fleet fuel card (discount gas) for  your use and deduct the fuel costs from your weekly payout. Sovryn Logistics also maintains the legally required insurance for your rig, and you are only responsible for your portion of the insurance which is also deducted from your weekly payout. The better your driving record, the lower your rates. We will provide you with an Electronic Logging Device (with a refundable deposit) and cover the monthly subscription cost which simplifies your record keeping.

You bring your van or truck and trailer, your Class D driver's license (for loads under 10,000 lbs), and a positive, friendly attitude, and we take care of the rest. We do require you to drive five days a week which ensures you earn a good income and we are available to provide our brokers with drivers for their loads. It's a win-win combination.

WHAT IS HOTSHOTTING?

A hotshot driver specializes in transporting equipment and special deliveries for clients, emphasizing the quick nature of these time-sensitive tasks. Typically, these drivers operate as independent contractors, using their own commercial vehicles to fulfill urgent delivery needs.

Your main job is to carry loads and make deliveries at an expedited rate. Other duties include:

  • Overseeing the loading of cargo on your rig and securing it for the delivery

  • Performing maintenance on your truck and trailers

  • Communicating invoice information clearly and accurately to clients

  • Ensuring all invoice information is buttoned up asap so you get paid for the load the following Friday.

Other skills:

  • Stamina: Drivers often spend extended periods on the road and must handle heavy equipment.

  • Mechanical Knowledge: Basic mechanical skills are beneficial for performing minor maintenance on trucks and trailers.

  • Time Management: Effective planning and scheduling are crucial for timely and speedy deliveries.

  • Communication: Clear communication with clients is essential to understand load requirements and deadlines.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Building relationships can enhance repeat business.

  • Driving Proficiency: Exceptional driving skills and a clean driving record are vital for success in hotshot driving.

WHY DRIVE FOR SOVRYN LOGISTICS?

Driving under another Authority has its pros and cons. One downside is sharing a portion of your load revenue in exchange for the support services provided. While light trucking can be profitable, it involves a lot of work, like finding loads in your preferred lanes, securing backhauls, ensuring FMSCA compliance, getting the best insurance rates, managing payments from shippers, maintaining records, and keeping your equipment in top shape. It's challenging to manage all of this alone, especially if you want to maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Teaming up with Sovryn Logistics comes with significant advantages. We take care of all the paperwork and dispatcht asks for you. You maintain your equipment, drive safe, and deliver onJust submit your invoices after each load, and you'll get paid every Friday.

ARE YOU A FIT?

Hotshotting requires responsibility. We are entrusted by our customers to deliver priority loads on-time. Our drivers own that responsibility, no excuses. Our mantra is Plan Ahead, Pay Attention and Don't Take Chances. Communication is imperative, if you even think you won't make your target on time, communicate it. No surprises. You are an above average driver. If you know, you know. In aviation we learn "aviate, navigate, communicate. In that order." In trucking, it applies even more. We keep our customers satisfied, our insurance rates low, and the FMSCA happy. If these values resonate, click the button above and have a conversation with us.
